AMF Spotlight - Lauren D'Nai -hide-

Anger MGMT Fitness is proud to Introducing our FIRST Sponsored Athlete

Meet Iauren D’Nai

Anger MGMT Fitness is proud to sponsor our first NPC athlete, Lauren D’Nai! Lauren is competing in the 2014 NPC Circle City Championships on September 6th, 2014.
Lauren is a graduate of the University of Indianapolis where she competed as a Division II basketball player and track and field athlete. In her free time she enjoys motherhood with her son and reading.

The AMF team sat down with Lauren to learn more about her fitness journey. It is our hope that her story and inspiration can motivate someone to try something new or to begin on a new fitness journey.

AMF: Why fitness? What is your story?
L: The challenge! I was never truly interested in the fitness lifestyle until approached after starting workouts in the fall of 2013. The personal challenge of living the “fit lifestyle” and health benefits that come with it are important to me. It gives me energy, as a parent, after a workout. I ran track from age 4 to 15 and never understood the importance of nutrition. Now that I am more into fitness, the nutrition aspect is more important, like what you put into your body. It took like-minded people to tell me about fitness. I will be honest, it is not for everybody, but if you put your mind to it, you can succeed. For me, once you see the results, you really become addicted to it.
AMF: How do you set goals?
L: I determine where I want to be or what exactly I want to achieve. I live by “knowing where you are at” and living by the steps that you take to be successful.
AMF: How do you pay it forward when it comes to motivating others?
L: I share my personal experience(s) with other people. Anything that I find that will help even just the ‘Average Joe’. I am self-aware. I share how nutrition plays in the role of life and longevity. Even when I am in the gym and receive a compliment, I advise on how I got here and give advice on how to achieve success.
AMF: What is your favorite workout and why?
L: I LOVE BACK! I love working out my back. There is something about lat exercises. I could not do full rep pull-ups when I started working out, and now I can!

Lauren also insisted that we include that her favorite food is brown rice. Don’t ask.

We will be tracking Lauren’s progress as she prepares for the September 6th competition. Please support Lauren in her efforts to bring Team AMF a victory at the NPC Circle City Championships!

Lauren Blog #1 – Grind Time

My bulking phase has ended :) It is officially GRIND TIME. BioSignature (weigh in) was Saturday. Bio is used to measure the overall body mass to body fat. The metrics are used by my NASM/ACE certified nutritionist, Dossey, to create the ultimate nutrition plan and caloric intake to achieve the best result!

I am currently 143.0 pounds with an 8.2 body fat percentage, and have achieved a gain of 8 pounds of lean muscle in just the last 2 weeks! I am officially going to start cutting down now, although it is still important that I maintain and still add LEAN mass! Everyone’s preparation to stage shape is different. My stage prep is only 8 weeks

Overall, I am excited to see my body unfold over the next 6 weeks. I should start to see some changes within the next week. Be sure to check my Instagram, @mychaeld_nai to see what muscles I train each day. You might get a glance of an exercise or too!

Stay tuned and thank you for allowing me to share my journey to stage!
